Scraplifting is a Saver!

I wasn’t so sure I would like using other people’s designs from the Heritage Makers Template Gallery, but once I understood the flexibility of the online Studio design center, I couldn’t imagine what I would do without it!  I am saving hours of “creativity block” simply because I start with something already on the paper!  Then I swap, swap, swap and in a short amount of time, I’m finished! This is the next generation of “scraplifting” – using someone’s  layout or design and making it into your own.

Here’s a project I completed while my daughter played hopscotch outside this afternoon.  I brought my camera out too and my laptop and made it right on the front porch. (Yes, that was me crouched under my sweater so that I could see my monitor without the glare.)

Here is the “before” picture of a cute 12×12 Scrapbook Page that I found in the Gallery by talented designer Michelle Bedard.

Here is the “after” of what I made and can call my own.  I used the digital scrapbooking collection called “A Breath of Fresh Air”.

How to Start a Heritage Makers Project with a Template

Here is a how-to on using Heritage Makers’ online Studio to create fast and fun projects using pre-designed templates from our growing Template Gallery. Create a Vacation Book – its Easy!

This summer our family went to Ontario to visit my parents for a week.  What amazing things we did.  My favourite was the butterfly catching.  Instead of sending them photos by email or simply posting them on facebook, I created a vacation photo book and sent it directly to my parents.  They were beyond thrilled.

I used the “Basic Vacation” by Darcie Toom 8×8 Storybook template found in the Template Gallery and it took me about 2 hours to upload my photos, re-arrange the pages, pick my pictures and swap them in.

Happy Storybooking!
